Process Integration/Lithography Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Process Integration / Lithography Engineer. Location: Albany, New York, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate across teams to ensure all hardware requirements are met in delivered chips and circuits
  • Develop and improve photonic fabrication processes and integration schemes for quantum hardware
  • Collaborate with internal and external engineers to refine fabrication for ultra-low loss components;
  • Work with foundry partners to optimize lithography approaches and balance fabrication constraints
  • Deliver integrated quantum photonic chips with active and passive components
  • Own photolithography and tapeout processes from design to final wafer patterning
  • Manage GDS files and coordinate with external mask shops;
  • Define OPC, ORC, and design rule specifications for manufacturing
  • Optimize exposure, focus, and material processes for precise pattern control
  • Stay updated on advances in photonics fabrication and patterning technologies

Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor or photonics foundry environment
  • Experience with fabrication processes, MES systems, and production workflows;
  • Familiarity with metrology and failure analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, AFM, and spectroscopy techniques
  • Strong understanding of photonic components like waveguides, resonators, and beamsplitters
  • Hands-on experience with advanced lithography systems and tapeout processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Experience building lithography modules in production environments
  • Knowledge of advanced mask writing and lithographic imaging physics
  • Experience with full product lifecycle from R&D to volume manufacturing
  • Experience in quantum photonic hardware development;
  • Track record of delivering integrated photonics products
  • Experience in fabless semiconductor environments

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Salary range: $110,000 – $150,000 per year
