Job Description
Job Title: System Dynamics Simulation Engineer - Photonics and Control. Location: Multiple Countries
Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance numerical models to simulate quantum hardware systems
- Analyze physical imperfections and translate them into system-level requirements
- Design simulations that support calibration of photonic chips and laser systems
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve system performance;
- Build and maintain simulation environments as digital twins of quantum hardware
- Contribute to development of FTQC control software using simulation insights
Qualifications:
- BSc or MSc in Physics, Engineering, Optical Science, Math, or related field
- Strong background in photonics and numerical modeling
- Experience with digital signal processing and feedback systems;
- Strong Python programming skills with numerical libraries (NumPy, SciPy, etc.)
- Ability to translate subsystem-level issues into system-level insights
- Experience collaborating with experimental or hardware teams
Preferred:
- PhD in relevant field
- Background in control theory and systems engineering
- Experience with photonic integrated circuits or optical communication systems
- Experience controlling complex hardware systems in lab or industry
- Experience with performance optimization and benchmarking;
- Knowledge of C++, C, Rust, or GPU-based computing
- Experience with software infrastructure such as CI/CD and containerization
