Job Description

Job Title: VP, Systems. Location: British Columbia, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Define system architecture, build plans, and system-level requirements for scalable quantum systems
• Lead cross-functional integration across hardware, chips, and software teams
• Oversee system validation, verification, and readiness to ensure performance, reliability, and quality
• Establish stage-gating, build cycles, and release processes for predictable system delivery;
• Build and scale a quality organization responsible for system integrity, testing strategies, and acceptance criteria
• Identify integration risks early and coordinate solutions across engineering teams
• Drive accountability for end-to-end system performance across all engineering disciplines

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in systems engineering for complex multidisciplinary products involving hardware, software, and system integration
• Strong background in system architecture, requirements definition, integration, and validation
• Experience establishing quality assurance, release management, and stage-gating processes;
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and align senior stakeholders across multiple disciplines
• Proven ability to bring structure and execution discipline to complex engineering programs
• Experience using AI or LLM-assisted workflows with an understanding of validation, governance, and limitations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred:

• Experience in quantum, photonics, telecommunications, or semiconductor systems
• Experience building first-of-their-kind technology platforms
• Expertise with system architecture frameworks, requirements management tools, and validation methodologies
