Infrastructure Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Infrastructure Manager. Location: Berkeley, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead and align the infrastructure engineering team, ensuring clear ownership and priorities
• Manage and develop engineers while building a collaborative and sustainable team culture
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure including AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and backend services
• Support data systems such as Postgres databases and Kafka streaming pipelines;
• Maintain hybrid infrastructure across cloud and on-prem lab and fabrication environments
• Improve developer tooling and infrastructure usability to increase productivity
• Enhance system reliability, resilience, and documentation for production environments
• Collaborate with software, quantum, and hardware teams to support infrastructure needs;
• Integrate infrastructure with lab devices, fabrication systems, and specialized hardware
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate networking strategies and partners

Qualifications:

• Experience leading Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE teams
• Experience building infrastructure in startup or fast-evolving environments
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads;
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Experience supporting distributed production systems
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: $215,000 to $275,000 per year
