Solutions Architect - Optimization

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect - Optimization (US). Location: Remote, USA

You will collaborate with internal teams, developers, and clients to build & deploy optimization solutions that leverage D-Wave’s cutting-edge quantum technology.

Duties:

• Develop customer applications using D-Wave’s quantum computing systems and internal development tools.
• Lead the design, testing, and deployment of quantum optimization projects that bring measurable business value;
• Work with clients to identify technical challenges, gather requirements, and design mathematical models for optimization use cases.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to share feedback and help prioritize feature development.
• Create clear and structured technical documentation and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project success;
• Promote an inclusive and collaborative culture that encourages innovation and teamwork.

Qualifications:

• Master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Python, with strong knowledge of libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, or Networkx.
• Background in mathematical modeling, optimization techniques, and experience with tools like CPLEX or Gurobi;
• Proven experience working directly with customers to understand requirements and deliver complex technical solutions.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience leading technical projects from design to implementation, ideally within industries such as manufacturing, logistics, or retail.

Benefits and Instructions:

• Annual salary range: $124,000–$186,000 USD, plus equity, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
