Solutions Architect - Optimization

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect - Optimization (UK). Location: Remote, United Kingdom

You will work with internal teams and external clients to transform complex business problems into production-ready quantum applications, that demonstrate the value of quantum computing today.

Duties:

• Build and deploy quantum optimization solutions using D-Wave’s hybrid solvers and quantum platforms.
• Collaborate with customers to identify use cases, gather requirements, and design mathematical models and algorithms.
• Work with delivery leads, developers, and other solution architects to ensure successful project delivery;
• Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams.
• Provide feedback and insights to D-Wave’s product and tools teams to improve solution capabilities;
• Lead design, testing, and deployment of applications that solve optimization and AI-driven problems in production environments.
• Support the development of a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications:

• Master’s, PhD, or equivalent experience in Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Python, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and NetworkX.
• Strong understanding of mathematical modeling and optimization techniques;
• Experience using optimization tools such as CPLEX, Gurobi, or similar solvers.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Proven success in delivering customer-facing software or consulting projects;
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide projects from concept to delivery.
• Background in industries like manufacturing, logistics, retail, or services preferred.
• Must be eligible to pass US government clearance.

• Annual salary range: 72,000 to 108,000 GBP, depending on experience and proficiency level.
