Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Specialist. Location: British Columbia, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing including invoice handling, coding, approvals, vendor payments, and PO reconciliation
• Process employee expense reports and ensure policy compliance
• Handle routine bank postings, recurring journal entries, payroll postings, and credit card reconciliations
• Support month-end close activities including accruals, prepaid schedules, reconciliations, and audit-ready documentation
• Identify and resolve transaction anomalies, coding issues, and process gaps;
• Maintain accurate vendor master records and financial transaction documentation
• Support process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency within the finance team

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of bookkeeping, accounts payable, or transactional accounting experience
• Experience handling AP processes in high-volume or multi-entity environments;
• Proficiency with ERP or accounting software such as NetSuite
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadline management skills

Preferred:

• CPA pursuit in progress or planned
• Experience working in a technology or high-growth company in Canada
• Familiarity with expense management tools such as Float or Concur
• Experience with PO-based purchasing workflows;
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools for reconciliation, documentation, and process improvement
