Solutions Architect - Financial services

Job Description

Job Title: Solutions Architect - Financial Services (Principal or Director Level). Location: United States (Remote)

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical leader for strategic customer accounts within the financial services sector
  • Partner with Strategic Account Executives on account planning, technical discovery, and solution development
  • Identify high-value opportunities for applying quantum computing to financial services workflows and optimization challenges;
  • Guide customers in defining project scopes aligned with current quantum capabilities, research strengths, and technical roadmaps
  • Maintain a catalog of industry-relevant use cases to support customer engagement and internal research planning
  • Develop customer-facing technical content, proposals, and solution materials
  • Provide market and customer feedback to research leaders to ensure alignment with industry needs
  • Stay current on developments in quantum technologies, financial services, and optimization methods
  • Build expertise in relevant quantum algorithms, use cases, limitations, and technology roadmaps;
  • Director Level Only: Lead and develop the Solutions Architecture team through coaching, performance management, and resource planning
  • Director Level Only: Establish technical best practices and oversee quality and prioritization across the solutions portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in quantitative, computational, or advanced analytics programs within the financial services industry
  • Director Level Only: Experience leading technical teams or managing direct reports in customer-facing or applied research environments

Preferred:

  • PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, or a related STEM field
  • Experience with or exposure to quantum technologies;
  • Strong background in portfolio optimization, asset allocation, derivatives pricing, quantitative finance, treasury optimization, liquidity management, capital optimization, or fraud detection
  • Proven success managing customer relationships and delivering technically complex projects
  • Ability to work closely with sales teams while maintaining independent technical judgment
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions;
  • Excellent communication skills with executive, technical, and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills

  • Annual salary of $180,000 - $250,000
