Job Description
Job Title: Senior Solutions Architect - Optimisation (UK & Ireland). Location: Remote (United Kingdom); UK & Ireland coverage
You will work closely with customers, internal delivery teams, and product leaders to turn complex business challenges into production-ready solutions powered by Python and advanced optimisation methods.
Duties:
- Build and deploy customer applications on D-Wave quantum systems and internal platforms.
- Translate customer business problems into mathematical and optimisation models.
- Design, prototype, test, and deliver hybrid quantum-classical solutions for production use.
- Work directly with customers to gather requirements, lead technical discussions, and propose effective solutions.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and provide clear business value;
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Share customer insights with product and tools teams to help guide feature development.
- Collaborate across internal teams to support sales, delivery, and customer success.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent experience in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional experience using Python for complex problem solving.
- Strong background in optimisation techniques and mathematical modeling;
- Experience with optimisation tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi.
- Experience building and delivering production-grade applications for customers.
- Hands-on experience working directly with external customers in a consulting or solutions role.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
- Ability to lead solution design from problem definition through implementation.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
- Industry experience in manufacturing, logistics, retail, or services is a plus.
