Financial accountant

Job Description

Job Title: Financial Accountant. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple company entities
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and hour-recording tracking
• Prepare VAT declarations and perform intercompany reconciliations;'
• Support monthly financial close processes and maintain accurate financial records
• Assist with internal, external, and fiscal audits by preparing documentation and financial evidence
• Support preparation of annual reports alongside the finance team
• Track subsidy grants and ensure expenditures are properly allocated to projects
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for subsidy compliance and reviews;
• Collaborate with project managers and finance leadership to ensure reporting accuracy

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of experience in financial accounting or financial administration
• Experience working with multiple entities or multi-company structures is preferred
• Practical experience supporting audit preparation processes;
• Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with financial software systems
• Fluent English communication skills
• Basic or working understanding of Dutch for processing local documentation and tax records
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail;
• Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience using Exact Online
• Previous experience with subsidy grants or multi-entity accounting environments
• Ability to work proactively and collaboratively within a small finance team
