Analog ASIC Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Analog ASIC Design Engineer. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and optimize analog and mixed-signal ASICs to meet demanding performance requirements
  • Own the complete ASIC development lifecycle, from specification and schematic design through layout, verification, tape-out, and production
  • Plan, execute, and analyze laboratory testing and characterization of fabricated ASICs;
  • Develop high-speed and high-voltage analog circuits, including transimpedance amplifiers and high-voltage amplifiers and drivers
  • Collaborate with photonics, packaging, and systems engineering teams to solve system-level integration challenges
  • Produce clear, high-quality technical documentation throughout the design process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in analog or mixed-signal ASIC/IC design
  • Proven experience taking ASIC designs from concept through tested silicon
  • Strong expertise in high-speed or high-voltage analog circuit design;
  • Experience working with multiple semiconductor technologies, including CMOS, BiCMOS, BCD, SOI, or GaN
  • Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools, preferably the Cadence design environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce technical documentation

Preferred:

  • Experience with photonic devices, including photodetectors, optical modulators, or related interface electronics
  • Experience with RF analog, High Voltage SOI, or GaN technologies
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related IC design field;
  • Experience designing and verifying DAC architectures

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Annual base salary of CAD $180,000 to CAD $220,000, depending on experience, location, and internal benchmarks
