Deployment Physicist, On-premises Installation

Job Description

Job Title: Deployment Physicist, Global On-premises Installation. Location: Singapore (with global travel)

Responsibilities:

• Lead installation of Helios quantum systems at customer sites, including shipment preparation, relocation, setup, and validation
• Improve deployment plans, workflows, and technical documentation for installation processes
• Act as the atomic physics and qubit operations expert during deployments;
• Perform integration and validation of quantum hardware before and during deployment
• Provide remote and on-site support for installed systems globally
• Contribute to future hardware deployment strategies beyond current systems;
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure successful system performance and customer satisfaction
• Travel internationally for deployments, including extended periods up to 3 months

Qualifications:

• PhD completed in physics, quantum computing, or related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in atomic physics or quantum computing roles
• Strong background in quantum hardware integration and validation
• Eligibility for international travel;
• Must meet U.S. security-related nationality requirements

Preferred:

• Deep expertise in trapped-ion quantum computing systems
• Experience with lasers, atom trapping, cryogenics, and ultra-high vacuum systems
• Experience with laboratory hardware control, data analysis, and physical modeling
• Programming experience in Python;
• Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Proven research or product development track record
