Fabrication Equipment Engineer, Quantum

Job Description

Job Title: Fabrication Equipment Engineer, Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semiconductor fabrication equipment
• Ensure maximum uptime and performance of critical manufacturing tools
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for fabrication systems
• Manage equipment installations, retrofits, and upgrades with external vendors
• Support operations across multiple facilities and research labs;
• Analyze reliability data to optimize maintenance schedules and improve equipment availability
• Drive continuous improvement projects for quantum manufacturing systems
• Maintain safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals and electrical systems

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience maintaining semiconductor fabrication equipment
• 5+ years of experience with photolithography, vacuum/plasma tools, or packaging equipment;
• 5+ years of experience working with hazardous chemicals and electrical systems in manufacturing environments
• Ability to troubleshoot vacuum, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and software systems
• Ability to read complex electrical, pneumatic, and P&ID schematics
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments using full PPE

Preferred:

• Experience with ICP/RIE etch and PVD/evaporation deposition systems
• Experience with high-vacuum technology, RF power supplies, and toxic gas delivery systems
• Experience with electro-mechanical measurements using oscilloscopes and generators
• Experience using CAD software such as KiCad, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD;
• Experience performing component-level repairs on electronics, robotics, and vacuum subsystems
• Experience managing equipment installations, vendor coordination, and acceptance testing

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary range: $159,000 to $231,000 per year
