IT Operations Specialist

Job Description

Job Title: IT Operations Specialist. Location: Sydney, Australia

You will work with multiple teams to make IT a key enabler of productivity and innovation while supporting Q-CTRL’s mission to lead in AI-powered quantum control software and quantum sensing technologies.

Duties:

  • Assess the current IT environment, including legacy systems, and design a practical roadmap for future improvements.
  • Manage the company’s global endpoint fleet, including provisioning, compliance, and de-provisioning of assets;
  • Oversee IT hardware infrastructure across on-premise and cloud systems, ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Handle identity and access management (IAM), ensuring user and permission security.
  • Respond to and resolve helpdesk requests efficiently;
  • Work with IT vendors to evaluate services, manage contracts, and plan improvements.
  • Provide IT training, support, and system maintenance to employees;
  • Maintain and optimize the VPN system and ensure endpoint management for MacOS, Windows, and Linux through MDM systems such as Kandji.
  • Support compliance with global cybersecurity and information security standards, including data loss prevention.
  • Contribute to ongoing IT initiatives that enhance efficiency and resilience.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Google Workspace administrator (required).
  • Strong knowledge of IAM principles, user provisioning, and permission hygiene.
  • IT service management (ITSM) experience for service desk operations;
  • Proficiency in managing MacOS, Windows, and Linux devices through MDM tools.
  • Experience with IT asset inventory management and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Ability to maintain compliant BYOD environments and data security policies.
  • Familiarity with VPN management and cybersecurity best practices;
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset suited for a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Preferred experience with ISO27001, global export compliance, Jira Service Management, and Azure cloud systems.
