Principal Product Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Product Manager. Location: Redmond, Washington, United States

Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute product strategy for certificate and secret management platforms
  • Lead large-scale security modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native security platforms
  • Partner with engineering, security, compliance, and service teams to improve protection of cryptographic assets and reduce operational risks
  • Drive adoption of secure-by-default capabilities, including hardware-backed key protection, automated certificate lifecycle management, and centralized secret governance
  • Develop and execute roadmaps for cryptographic agility and post-quantum readiness across critical Microsoft services;
  • Influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align on priorities, investments, and implementation plans
  • Use data and telemetry to identify risks, measure security improvements, and guide product decisions
  • Balance customer needs, engineering constraints, compliance requirements, and operational excellence to deliver long-term platform improvements
  • Lead complex initiatives involving multiple engineering teams and executive stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in product management, program management, software development, or equivalent experience
  • Strong product leadership experience in security, infrastructure, distributed systems, or platform technologies
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple organizations;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive execution in complex environments

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Experience taking products or features from concept to launch
  • Experience improving product adoption, customer usage, and business metrics
  • Experience leading market-disrupting products or platform initiatives;
  • Experience with cloud security, identity, PKI, certificate management, secret management, key management, or cryptography
  • Familiarity with Azure, distributed systems, enterprise security infrastructure, or platform services
  • Experience driving security modernization, compliance, or risk reduction programs
  • Knowledge of TLS, HSMs, Key Vault technologies, certificate lifecycle management, and post-quantum cryptography
  • Experience supporting large-scale service operations and reliability programs

Benefits And Compensation:

  • Annual base salary of USD $142,800 to $274,800, depending on location and experience
  • Higher salary range available for eligible roles in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City
  • Eligible roles may receive additional benefits and compensation in accordance with company policies
