Job Description

Job Title: Qiskit Software Developer. Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to development and maintenance of the Qiskit SDK and its core components
• Design and implement high-performance quantum software and compiler features
• Collaborate with researchers to integrate state-of-the-art quantum algorithms into Qiskit;
• Work with large open-source codebases, following best practices in version control and code reviews
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate across global, multi-disciplinary teams
• Continuously stay updated with research in quantum computing, compilers, and quantum information

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, Doctorate preferred
• 5 to 15 years of experience in software engineering or related field
• Strong programming skills in Python and Rust;
• Experience in software design, architecture, and large-scale codebases
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and mathematics (linear algebra, probability, graph theory)
• Knowledge of quantum compilers or quantum information

Preferred:

• Experience contributing to open-source projects, especially large-scale systems
• Experience in quantum compiler development and optimization;
• Ability to work in globally distributed teams and collaborative environments
