Job Title: Senior Quantum Engineer - Cryo-CMOS Analog Circuit Design

Location:

  • Kongens Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • 3 days per week in-office
  • Travel: Less than 25%

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop CMOS analog circuits and functional blocks for quantum control applications.
  • Contribute to the architecture and specification of Cryo-CMOS subsystems with system and hardware teams.
  • Perform simulation and verification of full-custom analog and mixed-signal designs.
  • Collaborate across analog, digital, and cryogenic engineering teams to optimize system-level tradeoffs;
  • Support ASIC bring-up and characterization, including integration with system-level control hardware.
  • Document designs, results, and methodologies to support reproducibility, knowledge sharing, and downstream integration.
  • Contribute to technical publications and internal reports as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the team's culture and values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with proven technical engineering experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with demonstrated technical engineering experience.
  • Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with technical engineering experience.
  • Equivalent experience may also qualify.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in analog or mixed-signal design involving complex systems;
  • Experience designing, simulating, and laying out CMOS analog circuits.
  • Experience designing analog building blocks such as ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and/or RF components.
  • Experience with cryogenic circuit design, low-temperature measurements, semiconductor behavior at cryogenic temperatures, and/or quantum device interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with ASIC bring-up, characterization, and laboratory validation using system-level hardware.

Preferred:

  • Deep experience with analog and mixed-signal EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Proficiency with scripting/programming languages and Linux-based development environments.
  • Familiarity with digital design and verification languages such as Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Understanding of signal integrity considerations in high-performance systems.

Security and Other Requirements:

  • Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter;
  • The role may involve access to export-controlled information under regulations including ITAR, EAR, EU Dual Use Regulation, and other applicable regulations.
  • Successful candidates must provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or another protected status where required for export-control eligibility assessment.
  • Citizenship may be verified using a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may use other applicable documentation.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools for performance modeling, analysis, research, and day-to-day task automation.
  • Ability to work in an AI-first environment using modern AI tools to accelerate hardware development.
