Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Hardware Researcher - 559. Location: Singapore

The role involves hands-on work with advanced quantum hardware, including lasers, ion traps, cryogenics & control electronics, as part of a small but globally connected team.

Duties:

• Launch, operate, and maintain the Helios quantum computer and its subsystems.
• Manage functional areas such as laser systems, ion transport, and vacuum systems.
• Plan and execute hardware operation and development strategies;
• Support remote operation of H-series quantum computers in collaboration with global teams.
• Train and mentor junior researchers and technical team members.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of hardware systems;
• Contribute to cross-site collaboration and knowledge sharing within the company.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of post-graduate research or engineering experience;
• Proven background in atomic physics systems, superconducting qubits, or related hardware platforms.
• Experience with laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenic systems, and vacuum environments.
• Skilled in Python for data analysis, hardware control, and system automation.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to travel internationally for training or collaboration;
• Must not be a national of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen, due to national security regulations.
