Software Developer - Quantum Architecture

Job Description

Job Title: Software Developer - Quantum Architecture. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, optimize, and maintain software features that support quantum architecture research
• Collaborate closely with Physical Architecture researchers to identify software requirements and future development needs
• Refactor existing code to improve performance, maintainability, and development speed;
• Maintain high code quality through automated testing, documentation, and code reviews
• Develop software that improves noise tolerance and reduces overhead in quantum computing architectures
• Contribute to tools that advance next-generation quantum computing systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in Python
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Experience with unit testing, documentation, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD tools
• Strong communication and collaboration skills;
• Self-motivated with the ability to deliver high-quality software solutions
• Willingness to learn quantum computing concepts and apply them to software development

Preferred:

• Experience programming in C++, Rust, or other low-level programming languages
• Knowledge of quantum computing or quantum optics;
• Experience with scientific Python libraries such as NumPy, JAX, Numba, or Cython
• Familiarity with quantum computing frameworks including Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq
• One or more years of software development experience

• Annual base salary of CAD $110,000 to $130,000
