Software Engineer – Quantum Chemistry & cuEST

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Accelerated Quantum Chemistry and cuEST. Location: California, USA (Remote)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, optimize, and deploy production-grade GPU solutions for quantum chemistry applications
• Own the engineering lifecycle of the cuEST library from concept to production release
• Architect and implement high-performance computational methods for electronic structure calculations
• Lead development of specific software modules and contribute to broader engineering projects;
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and program teams to deliver products to customers and partners
• Engage with the quantum chemistry community to support adoption of GPU-accelerated technologies
• Research and develop new algorithms that improve the performance and flexibility of practical quantum chemistry applications
• Contribute to the advancement of applications in drug discovery, materials science, and semiconductor process development

Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent experience in computational physics, computational chemistry, computer science, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience developing high-performance numerical methods for scientific computing
• 5+ years of experience developing production-grade quantum chemistry software packages
• Expert knowledge of GPU software development and performance optimization;
• Proficiency in C++, CUDA, and quantum chemistry tools
• Experience working in collaborative software engineering environments
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows

Benefits And Compensation:

• Base salary range: $184,000 to $287,500 (Level 4)
• Base salary range: $224,000 to $356,500 (Level 5)
