UX Designer

Job Description

Job Title: UX Designer. Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Responsibilities:

• Design and improve user experiences for the IBM Quantum Platform, including product interfaces, learning resources, documentation, and website content
• Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups using the Carbon Design System and design best practices
• Identify user needs, design requirements, and technical constraints by collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Present design concepts and communicate user pain points and design decisions to stakeholders
• Apply user research insights to improve product usability and accessibility;
• Partner with developers to deliver accurate and user-friendly interfaces
• Collaborate with visual designers and engineers to ensure design consistency throughout development and release

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Strong experience designing human-centered web interfaces
• Experience translating technical, operational, and functional requirements into intuitive user experiences
• Experience designing interaction patterns, navigation flows, and user-centered digital products
• Experience working with product, research, and development teams to define UX goals
• Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Illustrator;
• Experience creating and validating user flows, wireframes, mockups, and other design assets with stakeholders and end users

Preferred:

• Experience using AI tools in design workflows
• Strong visual design skills with knowledge of responsive design and accessibility standards
• Experience designing complex or highly technical platforms for researchers or developers
• Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
• Familiarity with the Carbon Design System or IBM Design Language

• Annual salary of $131,000 to $226,000

• Hybrid work arrangement in Austin, Texas
• Travel up to 20% (approximately one day per week)
