Job Description

Job Title: Intern, Quantum Architecture. Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia; Palo Alto, California, United States; Remote

Interns will work with the quantum architecture team on theory, modeling, and simulation of large-scale quantum systems, helping turn quantum computing research into real-world technology.

Duties:

• Develop and study methods for fault-tolerant fusion-based quantum computing.
• Research and model linear optical networks and FBQC protocols.
• Analyze quantum error-correcting codes and decoding methods;
• Model how errors originate and propagate through quantum systems.
• Simulate and benchmark different quantum architectures and protocols.
• Document research findings and clearly communicate results to the team;
• Collaborate closely with researchers across architecture, software, and theory teams.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Currently enrolled in, or completed, a postgraduate degree related to quantum computing, with strong preference for PhD candidates.
• Solid understanding of quantum information theory;
• Familiarity with areas such as quantum networks, graph states, stabilizer methods, linear optical quantum computing, or error modeling.
• Experience programming in Python or C++ for simulation and analysis.
• Experience using collaborative tools such as GitHub is preferred;
• Strong analytical thinking, creativity, and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

• Hourly pay varies by education level, ranging from $27.50 to $47.00 per hour.
