Manager, Quantum Model Validation

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager, Quantum Model Validation. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States / Remote

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and validation of quantum optical system models using real quantum computing system data.
• Manage and mentor a team of quantum architects performing real-time analysis of hardware behavior;
• Collaborate with photonics, electronics, systems, and architecture teams to maintain accurate, data-driven system models.
• Analyze hardware performance and provide technical feedback to engineering teams.
• Support the development of scalable fault-tolerant quantum computing systems through model validation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• PhD in Quantum Physics or a related discipline, with preference for Quantum Optics or Photonics.
• At least 5 years of academic or industry research experience in quantum computing or quantum information.
• Strong knowledge of linear optical quantum computing and associated error models;
• Experience performing or collaborating on quantum optics experiments.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Experience programming in Python and using collaborative development tools such as GitHub.

Benefits And Compensation:

• Annual base salary of $190,000 to $210,000 across the U.S. or $210,000 to $240,000 in the Bay Area.
