Physical Design Engineer

Job Description

Job title: Physical Design Engineer. Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Responsibilities:

• Implement high-performance microprocessor blocks from RTL to GDSII.

• Perform block-level logic synthesis, floorplanning, placement, and routing.

• Optimize designs to meet timing, power, and area requirements;

• Implement engineering change orders (ECOs) to resolve functional bugs and timing violations.

• Collaborate with team members to solve problems and communicate design issues effectively.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.

• 5 to 8 years of industry experience in physical design methodology.

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in logic synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis, and routing.

• Knowledge of physical verification methods, including layout versus schematic (LVS) and design rule checking (DRC).

• Experience with noise analysis, power analysis, and electromigration;

• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Preferred: Automation and scripting experience with Python, Perl, SKILL, and/or Tcl.
