Principal Analog & CAD Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Analog & CAD Engineer. Location: Redmond, Washington, United States

Job Type: Full-time, on-site hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and audit external semiconductor foundries for quantum and cryogenic silicon programs
  • Develop and maintain PDKs, standard cell libraries, and analog design flows at cryogenic temperatures
  • Define and implement CAD tool flows for ASIC development in collaboration with CAD infrastructure teams
  • Perform analog design of cryo-CMOS components for quantum systems;
  • Work on layout path-finding for quantum and cryogenic CMOS integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architecture, verification, and vendors
  • Drive long-term process development strategies for scalable quantum hardware

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 8+ years (Bachelor’s), 6+ years (Master’s), or 3+ years (PhD) industry or R&D experience
  • Experience with CAD tools, analog design, or semiconductor process development
  • Experience working with foundries and silicon process technologies;
  • Strong understanding of device physics and technology process nodes
  • Ability to meet Microsoft security and export control requirements
  • Ability to work in AI-assisted engineering environments

Preferred:

  • 9+ years engineering experience in analog or semiconductor design (BSEE or higher)
  • Experience with PDK development, modification, and scaling for cryogenic systems
  • Experience with Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA tools
  • SPICE modeling and mixed-signal design experience;
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Java, and C++
  • Experience with DFT and DFM techniques
  • Knowledge of analog layout and system integration challenges
  • Experience applying AI/ML in hardware optimization workflows
  • Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from approximately $142,800 to $274,800 per year (U.S.)
