Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quantum Test Engineer, Cryo-Mechanical and Electrical. Location: Kongens Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and utilize 4K cryogenic hardware systems for quantum device screening and measurement
- Diagnose, track, and resolve hardware issues in cryogenic setups, including ground loops, wiring faults, and system-level failures
- Integrate and validate hardware components such as wiring, connectors, filters, and measurement instrumentation for data acquisition;
- Assist with 4K measurement execution and collaborate with software and engineering teams to support reliable lab operations
- Design and build AI agents or copilots to document procedures, hardware configurations, and maintenance activities for knowledge sharing and reproducibility
- Manage and track hardware inventory and coordinate procurement and restocking
- Uphold and improve safety standards and best practices in the cryogenic laboratory environment

Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Physics, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Hands-on experience with cryogenic systems for electronic characterization
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for hardware and measurement setups
- Proficiency in Python for measurement automation;
- Experience with Git for version control and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate technical findings clearly
Preferred:
- Experience with CAD for circuit or hardware layout and system integration
- Experience managing hardware inventory and procurement in a laboratory environment
- Familiarity with quantum measurement workflows
- Experience with AI and agentic frameworks
Additional Requirements:
- Must meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years afterward
- The role involves access to export-controlled information under regulations that may include ITAR, EAR, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and other applicable regulations
- Successful candidates must provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or another protected status where required for export-control eligibility assessment
- Citizenship must be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may use other applicable documents
Benefits and Compensation:
- Typical base pay range across Denmark: kr 715,600 to kr 1,201,100 per year
- Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation;
- Benefits and pay information is available through Microsoft's Denmark corporate pay information
- Position remains open for at least 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled
