  • Own and manage wafer lots processed at external foundry partners, ensuring quality and delivery timelines.
  • Design and execute process improvement experiments, including fabrication splits, inline data collection, and result analysis.
  • Define and carry out metrology and failure analysis plans to identify root causes and improve process performance;
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineers and external foundry partners across process integration, photonics design, and fabrication.
  • Push the state of the art in integrated photonics fabrication by improving key performance metrics such as optical loss.
  • Stay current with new developments in photonics fabrication and rapidly apply new techniques and learnings.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in physics, materials science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a semiconductor or integrated photonics foundry environment.
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle, from research and development to volume manufacturing.
  • Strong background in semiconductor fabrication process development and optimization.
  • Proven ability to deliver low-loss integrated photonic components through process engineering;
  • Hands-on experience with metrology and failure analysis techniques such as SEM, TEM, AFM, ellipsometry, XRD, SIMS, Raman spectroscopy, or photoluminescence.
  • Familiarity with passive and active photonic components including waveguides, modulators, resonators, and interferometers.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and clear communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 percent as required.

Preferred:

  • Five or more years of experience with integrated photonics fabrication using electro-optic materials like lithium niobate.
  • Experience etching waveguides in crystalline electro-optic materials.
  • Background in tool procurement, evaluation, installation, and process qualification;
  • Experience with data analysis tools and software, including Python and version control systems.
  • Experience working in fabless company environments.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin.

Benefits and instructions:

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge quantum hardware with real-world impact.
  • Inclusive, supportive, and collaborative work culture.
