Photonics Test Operator

Job Description

Job Title: Photonics Test Operator. Location: Toronto, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Perform measurements on photonic wafers and dies that form the building blocks of fault-tolerant quantum computers.

• Work with various sample types and sample carriers.

• Collaborate with Test Engineers and Photonic Designers to execute test plans involving thousands of measurements.

• Monitor system performance and conduct thorough functionality checks;

• Perform accurate data entry and validation.

• Execute standardized technical procedures and follow strict protocols to maintain system integrity.

• Maintain attention to detail while conducting advanced measurements in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a college diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related field.

• Have at least 1 year of laboratory experience with optical and/or semiconductor testing.

• Demonstrate working proficiency in Python and familiarity with Jupyter notebooks.

• Maintain strong attention to detail and focus during repetitive tasks;

• Follow complex instructions and adhere to strict protocols.

• Demonstrate effective time management and consistently meet deadlines.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.

• Experience with material handling units and wafer loader systems.

• Familiarity with different types of wafer handling hardware.

• Experience working in cleanroom environments.

• Experience with control charts and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Salary and benefits:

• Base salary: CAD 80,000 to CAD 110,000 per year.

• Eligible for equity and employee benefits.

• Salary depends on location, experience, and internal benchmarks.

Work schedule and conditions:

• Full-time, hybrid position based in Toronto, Canada.

• Core working hours may include an evening shift from Monday to Friday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., depending on company needs.
