Senior Nanofabrication Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Nanofabrication Engineer. Location: Kongens Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain nanofabrication process blocks
  • Drive manufacturing and delivery of standardized and exploratory nanoscale components
  • Provide technical guidance to equipment engineers and process technicians
  • Analyze and interpret process and testing data to support continuous improvement;
  • Design and build AI agents or copilots to assist with lab workflows, experiment setup, and data analysis
  • Collaborate with process, measurement, and design teams
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment
  • Implement and maintain process documentation
  • Follow safety standards and company policies, and escalate issues with appropriate urgency
  • Model Microsoft’s culture and values

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Solid professional experience working in a clean room;
  • Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of fabrication processes including lithography, deposition, wet chemistry, dry etching, and associated metrology
  • In-depth experience with electron beam lithography and/or wet chemistry processes

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of semiconductor microfabrication and nanofabrication technologies
  • Experience with structured experimental methodologies, including DOEs and related analysis
  • Experience with CAD tools and basic layout generation
  • Practical experience with MES systems, SPC processes, and failure analysis methodologies
  • Hands-on approach and structured problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to take ownership and deliver results in a dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of AI tools for engineering and data analysis
  • Ability to systematically solve technical problems
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Typical base pay range in Denmark: kr 715,600 to kr 1,201,100 per year
  • Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation
