Principal Quantum Error Correction Engineer

Job Title: Senior / Principal Quantum Error Correction Engineer. Location: Kongens Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark

Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop infrastructure for evaluating fault-tolerance strategies in quantum computing systems
• Collaborate with theorists and experimental researchers to improve quantum system performance
• Advance the implementation of quantum error correction codes for both logical and physical qubit architectures
• Support research and experimentation aimed at building scalable and resilient quantum computers;
• Solve complex technical challenges through cross-functional collaboration
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and teamwork

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, PhD, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Sciences, or a related field
• Software industry experience developing commercial software, compilers, scientific computing applications, or multi-component systems
• Formal experience in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant quantum computing research;
• Hands-on experience modeling and analyzing circuit-level noise in quantum circuits
• Ability to meet security screening and export control requirements
• Ability to apply AI tools to accelerate software engineering and research workflows

Preferred:

• Experience with HPC, scientific programming, or advanced computational mathematics
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Programming experience with Python, Julia, Mathematica, Rust, or C/C++
• Experience working in collaborative research and engineering environments
• Experience developing scientific computing and large-scale software systems

Benefits And Compensation:

• Annual salary of DKK 715,600 to DKK 1,201,100
