Quantum Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Engineer. Location: British Columbia, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Drive T centre qubits to high quality at scale by designing and executing rapid technical projects
• Work on complex, multivariate problems and iterate quickly toward solutions;
• Collaborate with nanofabrication, hardware, software, and modelling teams to accelerate progress
• Collect high-quality data to answer key technical questions and improve performance metrics
• Develop backup plans and alternative paths for execution
• Convert experimental results and models into actionable system requirements

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Experimental Quantum Information, Physics, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience
• Strong experimental and technical judgement in quantum systems
• Deep familiarity with platforms such as ion traps, neutral atoms, defect centres, solid-state spins, or superconducting qubits
• Experience working with multi-qubit systems at high fidelity
• Ability to adapt in a fast-changing R&D environment;
• Strong problem-solving skills in engineering and physics
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in the Greater Vancouver Area (work permit sponsorship and relocation support available)

• Base salary range: $119,000 to $163,600 CAD per year
