Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Field Engineer. Location: Seoul, Seoul, South Korea

Job Type: Full-time, hybrid, with domestic and international travel

Responsibilities:

• Lead technical customer discovery sessions to identify business use cases and potential applications for quantum algorithms.
• Explain quantum computing, networking, security, sensing, and space technologies, including their capabilities and limitations.
• Translate customer requirements into technical projects with product, engineering, and applications teams.
• Work with the IonQ Applications team to translate relevant quantum algorithms into application code and proof-of-concept projects.
• Create technical demonstrations, materials, and reusable assets explaining IonQ products and applications;
• Share customer insights with Product Management and Engineering to help inform product development.
• Partner with marketing, developer relations, and business development teams on customer workshops, conferences, and client meetings.
• Guide customers from early technical exploration through proofs of concept and toward production workflows.
• Answer technical questions, navigate objections, and help customers evaluate potential quantum applications for their businesses.

Qualifications:

• At least five years of experience in technical, customer-facing roles, or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or another STEM field.
• Strong interest in quantum computing and motivation to continue learning as the field develops.
• Practical experience with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Qiskit, Cirq, or other quantum computing SDKs.
• Experience leading technical events, demonstrations, or customer workshops;
• Ability to explain complex technical topics clearly to different audiences.
• Experience conducting customer discovery conversations and understanding customer priorities and decision-making.
• Experience on the customer side of relevant industries, including leadership experience, is valuable.
• A Master’s degree or PhD in a STEM field related to quantum computing is beneficial.
• Architecture experience spanning different technologies is beneficial.
