Staff Technical Account Manager

Job Description

Job Title: Staff Technical Account Manager - US Government. Location: Remote, United States

The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and strong technical communication skills to support the adoption & integration of D-Wave’s quantum technology.

Duties:

  • Serve as the main technical contact for U.S. government clients, ensuring successful integration of D-Wave’s quantum computing solutions.
  • Present product capabilities to customer prospects, mapping solutions to their computational needs.
  • Translate company strategy and technology roadmap for executive and technical stakeholders;
  • Deliver presentations and demos at conferences, webinars, and government events.
  • Support marketing initiatives through webinars, conference participation, and thought leadership.
  • Conduct regular technical meetings to monitor customer engagement and identify expansion opportunities.
  • Build long-term technical relationships with customer teams across deployment and support phases;
  • Provide input on customer requirements to internal product and development teams;
  • Act as a subject matter expert in optimization, algorithms, and applied mathematics for quantum applications.
  • Maintain awareness of government trends, technology needs, and security requirements.
  • Travel up to 30%–50% for conferences, client meetings, and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • 6+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Technical Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or Solution Architect.
  • 5+ years of Python programming experience in enterprise environments;
  • Experience supporting U.S. government clients, including DoD and Intelligence Community.
  • Strong background in optimization, algorithms, or applied mathematics.
  • Familiarity with tools like GitHub and REST APIs;
  • Knowledge of operations research, logistics, and scheduling preferred.
  • Quantum computing or project management experience is a plus;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
