Job Description

Job Title: Location: Zürich, Switzerland; Berlin, Germany; Munich, Germany; Grenoble, France; Paris, France; Accra, Ghana; Nairobi, Kenya; London, UK

This role is designed for students who want hands-on experience in advanced computing research, including areas such as machine learning, data science and quantum information science; while collaborating with teams across Google Research, DeepMind, and other groups.

Duties:

• Participate in research projects focused on solving complex, real-world problems.
• Work closely with researchers and engineers on exploratory and innovative studies.
• Apply computer science and mathematical methods to support scientific advancement.
• Contribute to experiments, prototypes, and early-stage research outcomes;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple Google research organizations.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related field.
• Experience in at least one research or technical area such as machine learning, optimization, data science, or quantum information science.
• Familiarity with one or more programming languages, especially Python;
• Prior research experience through internships, labs, or academic projects is preferred.
• Experience contributing to research communities or publications is a plus.
• Must be enrolled full-time in an EMEA-based degree program and returning to studies after the internship.
