AI Specialist - Simulation & Optimization

Job Description

Job Title: AI Specialist - Simulation & Optimization. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ML-based optimization strategies to tune parameters of simulated systems and quantum hardware
  • Improve performance of internal simulation software using GPU programming and high-performance computing
  • Build high-performance simulators for complex physical systems modeled by differential equations;
  • Develop and test new machine learning algorithms to improve research and development efficiency
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, scientists, and software developers on AI-driven solutions
  • Build reproducible data analysis and modeling workflows;
  • Optimize scientific software using profiling, debugging, and performance tuning techniques

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years of industry experience in ML, AI, simulation, data science, or optimization
  • Strong experience in Python and scientific computing libraries (numpy, pandas, scipy, sklearn, jax, etc.)
  • Experience with ML-based optimization and simulation systems;
  • Experience building simulators for physical systems and control systems
  • Experience with GPU programming (CUDA) and HPC environments
  • Strong understanding of physics, linear algebra, and statistics
  • Experience with software development workflows (Git, CI/CD, testing, debugging)
  • Familiarity with Linux, Docker, and cloud-based development environments

Preferred:

  • MSc or PhD in relevant technical field
  • Experience in reinforcement learning, representation learning, or generative modeling
  • Exposure to quantum computing concepts
  • Experience with statistical inference and signal processing
  • Experience working on embedded or high-performance ML systems

  • Salary range: 140,000 – 190,000 CAD annually
