Job Title: Research Intern, PhD, Summer 2027. Location

Job Type:

  • Full-time paid internship
  • 12 to 14 weeks
  • Summer 2027

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a research agenda.
  • Contribute to a productive and innovative research team.
  • Work with peers, managers, engineers, and partner teams.
  • Create experiments and prototype implementations.
  • Design architectures and research solutions to challenging technical problems;
  • Conduct research across areas including artificial intelligence, machine perception, data mining, machine learning, natural language understanding, privacy, computer architecture, networking, operating systems, storage, data management, and quantum information science.
  • Contribute research that can influence product development and technology used at large scale.
  • Share research and tools through academic publications, open-source projects, and applications to products.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Natural Sciences, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in at least one computer science area, such as Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Quantum Information Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or similar fields.
  • English proficiency is required for effective global collaboration and communication;
  • Internship participants must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Preferred:

  • Currently attending a degree program in the United States and available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside university term time.
  • In the penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completing the internship.
  • Research experience through internships, full-time positions, or laboratory work.
  • Experience contributing to research communities or efforts, including publishing papers in major conferences or journals.
  • Experience with a general-purpose programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C, C++, or similar.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • $118,000 to $157,000 USD.
  • 0% bonus target.
