Analog ASIC Design Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Analog ASIC Design Engineer. Location: Remote (Canada)

Responsibilities:

  • Define the technical roadmap and architecture for high-performance analog and mixed-signal ASICs.
  • Lead the complete ASIC development lifecycle from architecture and design to tape-out and silicon validation.
  • Manage technical collaboration with external ASIC design partners and vendors.
  • Develop and verify complex analog IC designs for high-speed and high-voltage applications;
  • Oversee laboratory testing, characterization, debugging, and performance analysis of fabricated silicon.
  • Collaborate with photonics, packaging, and system architecture teams to solve system-level integration challenges.
  • Mentor engineering team members and establish best practices for analog IC design.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for analog ASIC development across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field focused on IC design.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in analog or mixed-signal ASIC/IC design.
  • Proven experience leading multiple ASIC tape-outs from architecture to silicon validation;
  • Strong expertise in analog ASIC design involving high-speed and high-voltage circuit requirements.
  • Experience with semiconductor process technologies such as BCD, SOI, GaN, or BiCMOS.
  • Proficiency with Cadence or similar EDA design and verification tools.
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing interface electronics for photodetectors, optical modulators, or co-packaged optics.
  • Experience with High-Voltage SOI, RF Analog, or GaN process development.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related IC design field.
  • Experience developing custom DAC and ADC architectures.
