Job Description

Job title: IBM Japan Research Scientist Fresh Graduates. Location: Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and develop innovative technologies in collaboration with researchers worldwide and other IBM teams.

• Publish findings in leading academic conferences and journals.

• Develop patents with business value and contribute to industry standards and open-source projects.

• Contribute to IBM products, services, and business transformation for clients and industries;

• Work on research initiatives across quantum computing, AI technologies, semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and algorithms, depending on your specialization.

• Support the development of quantum-centric supercomputing technologies that integrate quantum processing units (QPUs), CPUs, and GPUs.

• Contribute to quantum software development, new algorithms, high-performance computing integration, quantum education, and quantum computing supply chains where relevant to your research area.

Qualifications:

• Must have obtained or be scheduled to obtain a master's degree in a science or engineering field, or possess equivalent skills.

• Must be able to work full-time in Japan;

• Must be able to work in English or be willing to develop the necessary language skills.

• Must be able to work in Japanese or be willing to develop the necessary language skills.

Preferred:

• A doctoral degree is preferred.

• Understanding of IBM Research's mission and commitment to research and innovation.

• A proactive mindset, with the ability to propose ideas and take initiative beyond assigned responsibilities.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work with researchers, IBM teams, and clients to develop innovative solutions.
