Data Scientist, Integrated Circuit Design

Job Description

Job Title: Data Scientist, Quantum Integrated Circuit Design Calibration. Location: Berkeley, CA or Fremont, CA

Responsibilities:

• Develop software infrastructure in Python to streamline feedback from measurements to the integrated circuit design team.
• Analyze large datasets from quantum processors and test devices to identify correlations between fabrication metrology and processor performance.
• Apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to calibrate processor design parameters and improve design accuracy;
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to monitor and enhance fabrication yield, selecting the highest performing candidate processors for testing and deployment.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in data science, statistical analysis, and visualization of large datasets.
• Strong programming skills in Python for scientific applications.
• Experience with SQL or similar database tools;
• Proven ability to collaborate with experimentalists to analyze and interpret experimental data.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Preferred:

• Experience or knowledge in integrated circuit fabrication and lithographic techniques.
• Technical experience in a startup or industry environment.

• Base salary: $161,000 - $210,000 per year (final compensation based on experience, skills, and location).
