Job Title: Senior Manager - Quantum Development Tools. Location: Cambridge, UK

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers and developers.
• Partner with software directors and senior architects to deliver technical milestones for compilers, runtimes, languages, optimization tools, emulators, and debuggers.
• Remain technically engaged through design discussions, architectural reviews, and code problem-solving.
• Coordinate collaboration across hardware, theory, and product teams at global locations;
• Guide developer tooling from experimental research prototypes to robust, production-grade enterprise software.
• Travel occasionally to international sites in the US and UK.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of formal technical leadership or line-management experience;
• Strong background in compiler design, programming language development, or high-performance developer tooling.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python and Rust.
