Principal Software Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Principal Software Engineer. Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India

Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid, 3 days per week in office)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver Windows security and enterprise features for client and server operating systems.
• Build solutions for hardware-backed security, cryptography, identity, authentication, and enterprise management.
• Develop robust, maintainable, and testable software suitable for large-scale deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across global locations to deliver shared technical goals;
• Drive the complete software development lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, validation, and deployment.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering workflows to improve design, debugging, testing, and documentation while maintaining high security standards.
• Develop reusable AI workflows, validation checklists, and automation to improve engineering efficiency.
• Use AI to support root cause analysis, debugging, test generation, validation, and automation of repetitive engineering tasks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with 12+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
• Strong programming experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience building and shipping production software in systems programming languages such as C, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience debugging complex software systems;
• Experience with platform security, cryptography, identity and authentication, secure boot, TPM, device security, enterprise policy management, or licensing systems.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, performance-sensitive software, preferably for Windows or operating systems.

Preferred:

• Experience with Public Key Cryptography and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC).
• Strong background in software testing, telemetry, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Experience collaborating with global engineering, security, and program management teams.
