Quantum Advanced Packaging Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Advanced Packaging Engineer. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

  • Lead research and development of advanced quantum packaging and chiplet integration technologies
  • Drive projects from concept through prototyping to manufacturable processes
  • Develop and improve semiconductor packaging techniques for quantum hardware systems
  • Contribute hands-on to fabrication, assembly, and testing of quantum processor components
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors for technology integration;
  • Manage outsourced activities and ensure alignment with internal development goals
  • Balance technical priorities across teams and align work with company objectives
  • Foster innovation, accountability, and high-performance engineering culture
  • Support scaling of 3D quantum architecture systems for next-generation processors

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Physics, Electronics, Materials Science, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in hardware R&D, preferably semiconductor packaging
  • Strong track record of solving complex engineering and integration challenges;
  • Experience in leading technical development projects under uncertainty
  • Strong communication skills across engineering and business teams
  • Experience working in startup or scale-up environments

Preferred:

  • Experience with flip-chip, semiconductor integration, and advanced packaging methods
  • Knowledge of thermal management, mechanical stress, and reliability in hardware systems
  • Familiarity with simulation tools for packaging and chip design
  • Experience leading R&D teams and mentoring engineers;
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills
  • Ability to build scalable engineering processes in fast-moving environments
