Quantum Applications Architect (Compilation)

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Applications Architect (Compilation). Location: USA - Remote

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and development of compilation techniques for quantum algorithms tailored for fault-tolerant quantum computers.
• Design and develop quantum compilation and simulation tools and software;
• Collaborate with external partners to validate and optimize quantum algorithms for real-world use cases in domains such as life sciences and sustainability.
• Perform simulation and analysis of resource requirements for fault-tolerant implementation of quantum algorithms on photonic quantum computers.
• Work closely with the quantum architecture team to co-optimize algorithm methods with hardware design.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Physics, Math, or Computer Science, or equivalent; PhD preferred, with focus on quantum information theory or quantum computation.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant academic or industry experience in quantum circuit compilation, quantum algorithms, or deployment of quantum computing software.
• Experience with quantum algorithms and compiling in the fault-tolerant regime preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team across departments, sites, and time zones;
• Experience programming in Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving start-up environment.

Preferred:

• Experience collaborating with academic or industry partners to analyze real-world quantum applications.

Benefits and Compensation:

• U.S. Base Pay Range: $125,000 - $145,000 USD
• Bay Area Pay Range: $160,000 - $175,000 USD
• Full-time employees eligible for equity and benefits.
• Compensation dependent on experience, education, location, and business needs.
