Quantum Architecture Scientist - Tensor Networks

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Architecture Scientist - Tensor Networks Specialist (Intermediate to Senior). Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities:

• Research, develop, and implement theory and simulation tools for studying noise in large-scale photonic quantum architectures
• Design next-generation quantum hardware using tensor network methods;
• Implement matrix product state algorithms and other tensor network techniques for quantum state simulation
• Collaborate with architecture and hardware teams on research projects
• Document research findings and communicate technical results clearly within the team

Qualifications:

• Master’s or PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with tensor network methods and large-scale quantum state simulations
• Strong background in numerical simulations and scientific computing
• Proficiency in Python for research or scientific applications;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative research environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

• PhD in a related technical field
• Postdoctoral or industry experience in quantum technology or condensed matter physics
• Familiarity with quantum optics, Gaussian quantum optics, and noise processes
• Knowledge of quantum error correction or measurement-based quantum computing
• Experience with numerical sampling techniques;
• Experience with high-performance computing, GPU acceleration, or parallelized simulations
• Understanding of software development best practices including testing, documentation, and code reviews
• Proven experience contributing effectively within research teams

Benefits and Compensation:

• Intermediate salary range: CAD 100,000 to CAD 140,000 per year
• Senior salary range: CAD 140,000 to CAD 180,000 per year
