Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Design Engineer - Processors. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve quantum chip design tools, including PDKs, DRC flows, tuners, and tape-out generation tools
• Design and optimize on-chip quantum components for next-generation quantum processors
• Own chip design projects supporting both research and product development activities;
• Manage the complete chip development cycle from design through fabrication and measurement
• Coordinate with fabrication and measurement teams to ensure successful execution of chip designs
• Support foundry customers in designing chips that comply with QuantWare's design standards and PDK requirements
• Provide technical guidance throughout the design process to ensure successful project outcomes;
• Identify bottlenecks in existing workflows and implement improvements to design tools, processes, and tape-out procedures

Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher with strong knowledge of circuit design and RF/microwave engineering
• Hands-on experience with RF simulation tools such as ANSYS HFSS, Sonnet, or similar platforms
• At least 4 years of collaborative Python programming experience;
• Proven ability to deliver complex technical projects with strong ownership and initiative
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment

Preferred:

• Experience working with superconducting qubits or quantum circuits
• Familiarity with quantum design and layout tools such as Qiskit Metal, KLayout, or GDSFactory
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and design automation workflows;
• Knowledge of nanofabrication processes
• Experience with cryogenic measurement techniques
