Quantum Engineer, Device & Measurement

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Engineer II, Device Test & Measurement. Location: New Haven, Connecticut, USA

Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform microwave, electrical, and cryogenic measurements for quantum devices
  • Develop and execute experiments for quantum device characterization and validation
  • Maintain and optimize cryogenic and measurement systems to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency
  • Analyze experimental data to evaluate device performance and identify key contributing factors
  • Develop and maintain experiment automation and data analysis pipelines;
  • Identify issues in experimental procedures or tools and implement practical improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and research teams to support device development
  • Maintain accurate documentation of experimental methods, results, and datasets

Qualifications:

  • M.Sc. with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience working with superconducting quantum devices, device physics, and measurement techniques
  • Experience with DC/RF measurements and cryogenic systems;
  • Proficiency in scientific programming for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, and automation
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal scientific communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary physics and engineering teams
