Quantum Engineer, Superconducting Qubits

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantum Engineer, Superconducting Qubits. Location: Berkeley, CA or Fremont, CA

Responsibilities:

• Develop experimental programs on superconducting qubit devices
• Design and optimize high-fidelity quantum gates
• Implement and test novel control and coupling strategies;
• Identify performance bottlenecks and determine their physical origin
• Analyze experimental data rigorously to extract actionable insights
• Collaborate across device, fabrication, and control teams to translate ideas into hardware progress

Qualifications:

• PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Extensive hands-on experience with superconducting qubits
• Strong background in gate design, pulse engineering, and decoherence mechanisms;
• Proven ability to independently lead complex experimental projects from concept to validated result
• Intellectual independence, technical courage, and ability to defend ideas with evidence
• Motivation to compete at the highest technical level in the field

Benefits and Compensation:

• Base salary $170,000 - $205,000 per year
