Quantum R&D Engineer - Processors

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum R&D Engineer - Processors. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Responsibilities:

• Design and simulate on-chip quantum architectures to improve processor performance
• Develop scalable components for next-generation quantum processors
• Perform cryogenic measurements to validate and improve quantum chip designs
• Close the feedback loop between design, fabrication, and testing teams;
• Automate design, simulation, and measurement workflows using software tools
• Collaborate across engineering and fabrication teams to accelerate development cycles
• Contribute to development of large-scale quantum processing units (QPUs)

Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent experience in experimental superconducting quantum computing or related field
• Experience in design and cryogenic measurement of superconducting circuits
• Strong proficiency in Python for quantum experiments and data analysis;
• Strong understanding of quantum device physics and experimental workflows
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of full development cycle

Preferred:

• Experience with scalable quantum processor design
• Experience in quantum simulation and modeling tools;
• Familiarity with automation of experimental quantum workflows
• Strong collaborative and problem-solving mindset in research environments
