Quantum R&D Engineer - Processors

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum R&D Engineer - Processors. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Job Type: Full-time, on-site (hybrid flexibility not specified)

Responsibilities:

• Design and simulate new on-chip quantum architectures to improve processor performance
• Contribute to scaling quantum processors into large, integrated systems
• Perform cryogenic measurements to validate superconducting quantum circuit designs
• Use experimental results to refine and improve quantum hardware designs
• Automate design, simulation, and measurement workflows using software tools;
• Collaborate across engineering and fabrication teams to accelerate design-to-test cycles
• Take ownership of end-to-end quantum component development lifecycle

Qualifications:

• PhD in experimental superconducting quantum computing or closely related field, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience in design and cryogenic measurement of superconducting circuits
• Strong proficiency in Python and quantum experiment data analysis;
• Strong understanding of quantum hardware development and experimental validation
• Ability to work in fast-paced collaborative research environments

Preferred:

• Experience building and testing superconducting quantum components
• Experience with quantum processor scaling and integration
• Strong experimental physics background in quantum systems;
• Experience improving measurement and calibration workflows
