Job Title: R&D Lead - Scalable Quantum Devices. Location: Delft, Netherlands

Job Type: Full-time, on-site (hybrid flexibility depending on team setup)

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate quantum R&D projects focused on scalable device development
• Manage critical project paths, priorities, and experimental sequencing
• Design and plan quantum experiments, including defining hypotheses and expected outcomes
• Develop and interpret experimental results using data analysis and visualization
• Design Hamiltonians for experimental quantum devices;
• Collaborate across design, fabrication, and measurement teams to ensure R&D alignment
• Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and failure modes early and adjust strategies accordingly
• Communicate findings and experimental implications to internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in experimental physics with superconducting qubits
• Experience with full R&D lifecycle: design, fabrication, and measurement
• Strong practical, hands-on experimental approach with focus on results
• Ability to lead technical direction and guide team execution;
• Strong communication and decision-making skills in research environments

Preferred:

• Experience in scalable quantum device development or quantum processor R&D
• Experience with experimental design and Hamiltonian modeling
• Strong background in quantum measurement and device characterization
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering and physics teams
• Ability to balance scientific rigor with practical execution
