Job Description

Job Title: Staff Software Engineer, Pixel System Security. Location: Mountain View, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of secure boot mechanisms and manufacturing lifecycle security
• Collaborate with silicon engineering teams to review security architecture, ROM hardening, and secure provisioning
• Develop secure device authentication workflows and strengthen hardware-based cryptographic protection against supply chain threats
• Guide cryptographic key generation ceremonies and align platform security strategy with operating system engineering teams;
• Design scalable security solutions for Pixel devices and support long-term platform security initiatives
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for security-focused engineering projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 8 years of software development experience
• 5 years of experience with embedded systems and system security
• 3 years of experience in software design and architecture;
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, operating system internals, and security engineering

Preferred:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience leading technical teams and setting engineering direction
• Experience collaborating with silicon engineering teams
• Experience building secure bootloaders, roots of trust, and key management systems
• Familiarity with Post-Quantum Cryptography (ML-DSA), DICE attestation frameworks, or Rust
• Experience with cryptographic accelerators and secure hardware architecture
